To follow up with what we have researched prior to the Nuuksio workshop, we have been promoting the Kalasatama 2.0 google form on the Kalasatama facebook group and these are the responses:
There are some very interesting information, feel free to analyse and use it for your work :)

There is plenty of inspirational and insightfull material online predicting the future of digital services. I think it is crucial that you all have a clear view what digital services mean (vs. product or "non-digital services"), what are the currect technologies available for developers and also emerging technologies that might rapidly chance the game.

Here a few links to have a look at:

And another from PSFK (wearable tech is one relevant service touchpoint for Living Lab)

THE DESIGN TASK

This Living Lab Service needs design on service identity, production mechanics, service levels and interaction, as detailed below. Actual deliverables of the Aalto project are detailed elsewhere on the material.

DESIGN IS NEEDED ON:

1.    Branding/ service identity
·      Visual identity and name. Starting point is “Helsinki Living Lab” – not only Kalasatama - it will expand later to other areas
Ideas that have been in the thinking: “Test users, VIP users, Beta users, Friends of Helsinki, Helsinki Developer, Future Co-Designers, VIP-kehittäjä, Stadin Kehittäjä, Tulevaisuuden Koekäyttäjä…”
·      There is lot of existing visual material. These should not be used, except for Helsinki City official logo and application of official visual identity, if that suits the concept.  Kalasatama and/or “Smart” may or may not be part of the visuals.

2.    Service design concept
·      Design of the main service levels
·      How the services look to residents / people working in area?
o   VIP users/ “normal users”/ everyone living or working in area (different people probably want to do co-ideation and different people probably want to do product testing)
·      How the services look like to companies/universities/other developers of new things?
·      Service touchpoints and interaction design: this means e.g. digital, mobile, print (forms, letters, questionnaires) at testing venues, physical service point, NFC/window tag for testing venues, “customer cards”
·      Playful methods to engage users: e.g.  “Home”, community, badges, scores, user levels, VIP-users, gamified to a reasonable extent (think of something like loyalty cards for airlines, but more fun and on steroids

Note: It needs to be easy, fun, engaging, attractive for everyone – including the elderly living in the Kalasatama elderly houses and people working in the Kalasatama shops and university students in the area.

Also, one group will continue detailing on visual design guidelines, refining logo, digital templates, refined prototypes of the artifacts.

Hey,

Would this be a good place to store our documents, reading list, workshop posters etc?
Please feel free to modify the blog as you wish. This is the first time for me to use Blogger, so learning it while doing. If you know some better solution feel free to create a space for our project.
